The Story Behind Spotted Design
Design that can be spotted from a mile away.
As a serial entrepreneur with a multi-dimensional background, Annie’s mission has always been the same: helping others.
Her design story began when she was just ten years old, helping her little sister choose a new paint color — which quickly turned into a full bedroom makeover. Rearranging furniture, creating art for the walls, and transforming the space into something joyful sparked a lifelong passion for design that’s only grown stronger.
In 2013, Annie bought her first home and completely redesigned the interior — her kitchen renovation was even featured on Houzz. After trading snowy New Hampshire winters for the North Carolina sunshine in 2017, she built and designed a semi-custom home in Raleigh, deepening her love for creating beautiful, functional, and inspiring spaces.
In 2018, Raleigh’s Parade of Homes became a turning point. Seeing such intentional, thoughtful design sparked a fire within her to pursue interior design professionally after years of designing her own and friends’ homes. When her best friend asked her to help renovate an investment property in downtown Cary the following year, Annie couldn’t ignore that calling any longer — and Spotted Interior Design was born.
Since then, Annie has built her business brick by brick — one client and relationship at a time. Today, Spotted Design has completed over 100 projects and designed or managed more than $6 million in renovations, furnishings, and space planning. Most of the firm’s work comes from referrals and repeat clients, a testament to the trust and connection Annie and her team build with every project.
Now a proud mom to a baby boy, Annie has discovered an even deeper appreciation for the role home plays in family life. Designing with a baby (and a dog!) has reshaped her perspective — inspiring her to create aesthetic, functional, and pet-friendly spaces that evolve with the needs of modern families.
She’s lived it all: downtown in a 900-square-foot condo where she mastered small-space storage and creativity, and now in a new-build townhome she’s turning into her dream home for herself and her son.
